North Miami Beach Public Library is a Municipal Library. Proof of identity and address is required to obtain a Library Card and access our services. All materials borrowed from NMB Library must be returned to NMB Library.
Library Cards
Anyone may use the library and its resources without charge.
A library card is required to check out materials and use our computers.
You can also register online for a temporary card - bring your ID to the library to activate it!
Who Can Get One
Residents and property owners of the City of North Miami Beach, Hialeah, North Miami and the Miami-Dade Public Library taxing District are entitled to free cards.
Non-residents may purchase an annual family card for $30 or a 3 month card for $12 dollars.
How to Get One Residents/property owners must fill out an application and present a valid Florida Driver's License or a Florida State ID with current home address, or picture ID and one of the following:
Bank statement
Car registration
FPL water or gas bill
Home telephone, cable or utility
Lease, deed, or mortgage
School report card
Tax bill
Voter's registration
Other Ways to Get One
Children under 13 years must have a parent apply on their behalf and be able to print their first name.
Teenagers 13 to 18 may present a current school photo ID and report card showing name and current home address or a parent must apply on their behalf with above ID.
Non-residents of Florida must present photo ID and proof of local address.
Borrowing You can get a free library card to borrow materials and to use our computers. You can also register online for a temporary library card. Reciprocal borrowing is available from several area libraries - ask us for details!
