OnApril 17, The Children’s TrustBoard ofDirectorsapproved fundingrecommendations foritsYouth Developmentinitiative, its largest investment area.More than140programs, including the North Miami Beach Public Library, were selected during a competitiveRequest forProposals andreview process. These funds will help directly support children and familiesthrough after-school and summer programmingin Miami-Dade County.
Trust-fundedYouthDevelopment providersofferhigh-quality programming for children andyouth in kindergarten through 12thgrade, as well as young adults involved in the child welfareor juvenile justice systems and/or living with disabilities.The Trust is investing over$76millionto allow for theincreased cost of programming as well asexpandingprogrammingto existingand new providers.As well as providing nutritional meals and safe spacesfor children andyouth,Trust-funded after-school and summer campprogramsfocus onhomework andlearning,while also requiring physical activity and encouraging health and social and emotionalwellness.
